Though herself not a racer, author Tammy Kahler is enthralled with the top-dollar, high-drama, and competitive scene of the racing world. Her fifth entry in the Kate Reilly Mystery Series, Kiss the Bricks, has been called “smartly plotted and very engagingly written…readers unfamiliar with the series can jump right in.” (Booklist) After topping the speed charts in her latest practice session for the iconic Indianapolis 500, Kate soon learns she isn’t the first woman in the race’s history to do so. PJ Rodriguez-steady did it in 1987, shocking the world of racing again when committing suicide ten days later. Believing the woman was murdered, Kate throws herself into the 30-year-old case. Soon after, one of the suspects on her list turns up dead. As Kate prepares for the biggest race of her life, will she be able to discover PJ’s killer?
