Kay Kenyon signs in San Diego

Mysterious Galaxy is delighted to be hosting Kay Kenyon, author of former Fantastic First novel At The Table of Wolves --- a historical paranormal spy novel set in 1936 England.  Publishers Weekly describes the story of superpowers, secret Nazi plots, and espionage as “a superb adventure.”  Her second Dark Talents novel, Serpent in the Heather, will release in April.  Her novels have been nominated for the Philip K. Dick Award, the Endeavor Award, the John W. Campbell Award, and the ALA Reading List Award.

Kay will speak on Women Spies of the World Wars: "Many women worked undercover during the world wars, but we know the names of only a few. These women’s stories inspired me while writing At the Table of Wolves--and the sequel, Serpent in the Heather (April, 2018). They also helped me shape the major character, Kim Tavistock, a spy with a psi-Talent of hearing truths people most wish to hide. At my signing, I’ll chat about a few of these remarkable women like: Pearl Cornioley, a leader of the French Maquis; Krystyna Skarbek, the fearless Jewish countess who was determined to fight the Nazis in her Polish homeland; and Nancy Wake, the “White Mouse,” who could drink her male companions under the table (and needed to, to prove she was as good as a man)."

Kay Kenyon’s At the Table of Wolves is everything you like in WWII spy thrillers – louche British aristocrats of dubious loyalty, charming but diabolical Nazis hiding dreadful plots against England, a wonderfully strong, intelligent heroine pressed to her limit to save the day – but with psychic powers thrown into the mix. Kim Tavistock has the power to get people to confess their deepest secrets without intending or realizing it. She is up against a Nazi spy with hidden talents of his own, working in league with a mole at the heart of British intelligence. Will Kim discover their deadly secrets before the Nazi plots bring England to her knees? Read At the Table of Wolves to find out! A fun, fast read. Highly recommended!
