Dana Fredsti is an actress with a background in theatrical sword-fighting, whose credits among others include the movies Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, and the cult classic Army of Darkness. With her best friend Maureen, Dana co-produced, wrote, and directed a mystery-oriented theatrical troupe here in San Diego. Her experiences with it became the basis for her mystery novel Murder for Hire: The Peruvian Pigeon. She also authored the Plague Town trilogy, a humorous fantasy and horror tale full of gore and zombie romance. Her husband, David Fitzgerald is writer, historical researcher, international public speaker, and an atheist activist. He is the co-founder and director of the world’s first Atheist Film Festival and San Francisco’s oldest annual Darwin Day Celebration, “Evolutionpalooza!”
Together, Dana and David are the co-writers of the Time Shards science fiction trilogy. When “the Event” happened, Earth’s past, present, and future became witness to a terrifying new world of prehistoric monsters, lost cultures, and strange technologies. A desperate band of survivors from various points in history join a mysterious figure called “Merlin” to save the world. “Time Shards is the fast-paced kind of rip-roaring [sci-fi] adventure Doctor Who fans will love,” said author Paul Dale Anderson of the first installment. The second book, Shatter War, sees the sabotage of a twenty-third-century space craft, the Vanuatu, by an unknown enemy. The team of misfit time refugees must discover who is behind it, despite being split apart, if they hope to survive the war-torn Shard world.
