Martin Limon’s writing stems from his twenty-years of service in the US Army beginning at the age of seventeen. Ten years and five tours were spent in Korea, where Martin studied the language, explored the country, and experienced first-hand the clash of cultures between Koreans and Americans. His first novel, Jade Lady Burning, was selected as a Notable Book of the Year for 1992 by the New York Times. He has since published fourteen George Sueño and Ernie Bascom investigation novels. Limon latest work, G.I. Confidential, takes place in the 1970s; US Army CID Agents George Sueño and Ernie Bascom entangled with an obtrusive tabloid reporter as the two men investigate a string of violent bank robberies throughout South Korea. When proof surfaces that US soldiers are behind the crimes, Sueño and Bascom become the targets of a very unflattering publicity campaign, as well as something much more dangerous.
