Annalee Newitz is an American journalist, editor, and author of fiction and nonfiction. They are the recipient of a Knight Science Journalism Fellowship from MIT, and have written for Popular Science, The New Yorker, and the Washington Post. They founded the science fiction website io9 and served as Editor-in-Chief from 2008–2015, and then became Editor-in-Chief at Gizmodo and Tech Culture Editor at Ars Technica. Their book Scatter, Adapt, and Remember: How Humans Will Survive a Mass Extinction was nominated for the LA Times Book Prize in science. Their first novel, Autonomous, won a Lambda award and was nominated for the Nebula and Locus Awards.
Annalee’s latest novel, The Future of Another Timeline, recounts a war not for nations, but for the ages. Beth is a teenage riot girl in 1992. After witnessing a murder, she realizes there’s something deeply wrong with her life. Tess is a time-traveling geologist from 2022, hoping from era to era for her research and to right a wrong that haunts her. Their lives become intertwined as war breaks out across the timeline, leaving open the possibility that a small elite group alone will control the past, present, and future.

How to order books & tickets:
This is a ticketed event. Priority tickets to the signing line are given only with the purchase of THE FUTURE OF ANOTHER TIMELINE from Mysterious Galaxy. Tickets are numbered, indicating your place in the signing line, and are sold on a first-come basis. You may purchase your book online, in-store, or over the phone, but all books must be paid in full in order to receive a ticket.
1) You must enter payment method. Books ordered using the 'pay in store' option will not be issued a ticket or guaranteed a book until actual payment is made.
2) Note your intent to attend in the comments section at checkout.
3) All online orders must be submitted by 7:00pm on SEPTEMBER 26TH for your book to be personalized.
You'll be able to pick up your book and ticket from Mysterious Galaxy the day the book is published, SEPTEMBER 24TH at 10:00 AM.
