**THIS EVENT IS TAKING PLACE AT OUR NEW LOCATION: 3555 ROSECRANS ST, SUITE 107 (corner of Rosecrans & Midway)
For an afternoon of intense YA, join us for afternoon with Parker Peevyhouse, along with fellow author Demetra Brodsky in conversation. Parker’s critically acclaimed collection of novellas for young adults, Where Futures End, was named a best book for teens by the New York Public Library, the Chicago Public Library, and Bank Street. Her latest novel, Strange Exit, is a suspenseful, near-future, stand-alone thriller. “A wild ride of a book that forces you to question your own reality.” (Maura Milan, author of Ignite the Stars) The end of the world came and went. For those that survived, they chose to escape away into a virtual reality while the world healed. It was meant to only temporary, but the programmed world went on, and now only a seventeen-year-old girl named Lake remembers it is only a simulation. As the programmed world now slowly begins to breakdown and head towards its own apocalypse, Lake tries to wake everyone, while also racing to find the secret heart of the simulation, which may save or destroy everything.
Demetra was already an award-winning graphic designer and art director before she decided to completely switch her creative endeavors to writing. Her debut novel, Dive Smack, has been described by fellow author Gretchen McNeil as a “tense psychological drama with a voice that pulls you in and a twist that you won’t see coming.”
